About the Milprint Division
Bemis´ Milprint Division, founded by the Heller family in 1899 as the Milwaukee Printing Company, has grown steadily to become the premier consumer packaged products manufacturer in the country.
The Milprint Division found early success in the confectionery industry with the development of the first printed cellophane wrapper for 5-cent candy bars. Through the years, the Milprint Division grew into other snack categories providing it’s customers with value and innovation along the way.
In 2006 Milprint and Banner Packaging, another Bemis division, came together to form the company we are today adding Fresh Produce, Frozen Foods, Lawn and Garden, Cookie, Cracker and Cereal liner films and Personal Care Products to our product line.
Today, as part of the Bemis family, we continue to develop new products and processes that add competitive advantage for our customers...and value for the consumer.
Corporate Headquarters
Bemis' Milprint Division is headquartered in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. The company maintains seven facilities with nearly 1 million total square feet of production space. Customers are served by 1500 packaging professionals, who are dedicated to meeting the highest standards.
Notable History
- 1917 - Milprint creates the first printed candy bar wrapper
- 1925 - Milprint first to print on cellophane
- 1927 - Milprint first to print on aluminum foil (which they called "radio metal")
- 1928 - Milwaukee Printing Co. changed their name to Milprint
- 1990 - Milprint acquired by Bemis Company, Inc.
- 2006 - Milprint merged with Bemis' Banner Packaging division (acquired in 1995)
